Screen Lab

NETPAC Team composed of Philip Cheah, Park Ki Yong and Herman Van Eyken would like to call for project submissions for the 2nd Asia Pacific Screen Lab aimed at emerging screenwriters, directors and producers from the Asia Pacific Region. The focus is on stories exploring an Asia Pacific identity, to be developed into feature length screen content, be it fiction, documentary or animation.

The year-long sessions—between the project matching to acclaimed Asia Pacific Screen Academy members during the upcoming APSAwards in November 2015 and the graduation of the projects at the following APSAwards, will include residencies and masterclasses with established practitioners from the region and the rest of the world as well as special guests and networking opportunities.

Participants will receive year-long individual consultation sessions with mentors, carefully chosen by the Lab Team to further their project. The screen lab will end with a pitch in front of a high profile industry jury of sales agents, producers and last but not least festival programmers, which will award the graduation, now ready to go into production.

Between 2 and 4 projects will be selected to participate. The Asia Pacific Screen Lab will cover accommodation for the duration of the lab activities. A travel subsidy may be provided to participants traveling from within the Asia Pacific Region.

The submission deadline is 15 September 2015, 6pm (GMT+10).

The selected projects will be announced during the Beijing Film Academy 65th Anniversary celebration in October 2015. Project mentors will be announced at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in November 2015. Representatives of the selected projects will be invited to attend the Asia Pacific Screen Award Ceremony, and will at the same occasion meet their year-long mentors, all members of the Asia Pacific Screen Academy.
